Education Platform Rebranding
Reinventing user management experience with a new intuitive interface

As the product owner for a major Brazilian edtech company, I led an initiative to rebrand and redesign our education platform's (Learning Management System - LMS) central management hub. This project aimed to enhance user experience, improve functionality, and establish a cohesive brand identity across our web platforms.
What Was The Problem?
Our education platform had grown organically over the years, resulting in a disjointed user experience and inconsistent branding across various features. Users struggled to navigate the platform efficiently, leading to decreased engagement and productivity. We needed to create a unified, intuitive interface that would streamline operations for educators and administrators.
What Did We Build?
Solution
We developed a completely redesigned central hub for all platform management features. This new interface included:
A modern, responsive design that works seamlessly across devices
Intuitive navigation and information architecture
Consolidated dashboards for key metrics and actions
Streamlined workflows for common tasks
Consistent branding and visual language across all features
Guiding Metrics and Results
To measure the success of our rebranding project, we focused on two critical metrics: user engagement and task completion rate. We tracked the time spent on the platform and feature utilization to measure engagement, while the task completion rate helped us assess the effectiveness of our new interface design.
Our rebranding project had a big positive impact on the company. We moved R$2 million in yearly revenue from our old platform to the new one. This means many customers switched to using our improved system. Also, because the new platform works better, we were able to cut our operating costs by 15%.
Tools Used
- Figma: Used for brainstorming, creating wireframes, and prototyping.
- Zoom: Utilized for conducting meetings.
- Notion: Served as the principal tool for ideation and as a repository for all product documentation, including the Product Requirement Document (PRD).
My Role as Product Owner
Key Responsibilities
As the Product Owner, I led an 8-person cross-functional team through the rebranding and redesign process of our education platform's central management hub. My focus was on aligning user needs with business goals, orchestrating the redesign process, and ensuring the delivery of a cohesive, intuitive user experience.
User-Centered Design: Collaborated closely with designers to guide the redesign process from discovery to launch, ensuring that user needs and preferences were the main goal of all design decisions.
Cross-Functional Team Management: Led an 8-person team including designers, QA specialists, an Agile Coach, and developers, ensuring efficient project execution.
Feature Prioritization: Managed the product backlog, prioritizing features based on user feedback, business value, and technical feasibility to create a balanced and impactful product roadmap.
We made our education platform better by improving how it looks and works. The new design is easier to use and looks nicer, which has made more people want to use it. This boost in platform adoption has further solidified our position as a leader in the online education space.
